i've had problems left and right with vista. i built my computer, so i can't complain to some tech support at dell that vista keeps doing this or that even though all my drivers are up to date and all my my diagnostic software and loopback plugs are telling my hardware works flawlessly. it's impossible to submit a bug report because if you can, it is very well hidden in all the pages of useless "help". my searchers NEVER show what i am looking for (that is 0%) on the microsoft site and i always end up just searching for stuff on google (which gives me exactly what i need 90% of the time). the stuff on google usually ends up being "just another microsoft bug that no one can do anything about". then there is the lack of support and updates for 64 bit. where is service pack 1 for vista 64 bit?
I totally agree with you. it's a piece of s---. after a year of blaming myself for not being able to "get it", I realize each system should get better, not more complicated. Eventhing goes thru the internet and wants your password or user ID and the pop ups just don't stop!. I am returning my new laptop which came with Vista, because I can't get it to do anything for me!!!!! I have just reconnected my old laptop, that has Windows XP, it's like coming home. Everything is so easy again. I like progress, but not when it is designed to fail. Pam
