Re: Book recommendations
I'm completely new to this and I went with Natans book, so far, I'm loving
it!
full color, nice perception of the new startegy, (now I know whats a xaml
file is and how does work eheheh)
I bought from amazon but alone, without the other book, cause I'm new to
this, so there is no point to have other one until I read everything and
know exactly what should I accomplish with my applications under WPF and
only then I will buy a second book, Natan's book is great to know how's WPF
work, the interaction with code behind and xaml files, or only xaml files,
it covers really well all the controls, and... well, I'm only in Chapter 7
:-)

I own both of those books. I prefer Petzold's, because he does only C# in
the first dozen or so chapters, and teaches you more about WPF. It's a lot
more detailed, and explains more stuff, and seems more logically organized.
My only complaint is that it lacks section headers. So you go from toolbars
to status bars with no warning or break. I've taken to writing section
headers in the margins.
The Nathan book is gorgeous, that's true, but I don't find it as detailed
in some ways. On the other hand, he talks more about Commands than Petzold
does, and I've heard (but not verified) that there are some other things he
covers that Petzold doesn't, but like I said, I can't verify that.
If you can only buy one, I'd buy Petzold. If you can buy two, I'd buy both.
