Beta sign up eval
Hello.
I am interested in evaluating and getting our corporate support team in San
Diego familiar with the newest version of Windows we will deploy at some
point.
Can anyone point me to the current person to speak with to create a beta
account for this purpose?
Our company is a global corporation with many users and has a large campus
in San Diego which we are supporting about 2,500 internal users.

Thank you for your response.
Regards,
Da

Re: Beta sign up eval
Then beta 1 is not for you, wait on beta 2 when Microsoft will make
available a Corporate Preview of Windows Vista.

Re: Beta sign up eval
I would recommend becoming a Microsoft Partner. That way, you have
instant access to things like this.

I think beta 1 may not be entirely appropriate, but if you want it to
get them familiar with the OS, Windows Server 2007 Beta 1 will be
released to microsoft parnters soon, and Vista Beta 1 is expected
tomorrow for testers.

Register at connect.microsoft.com and beta.microsoft.com (and use
GuestID: BetaReq) to sign up for the regular beta program.

However, becoming a microsoft partner is your best option, and its
free. I am a microsoft parnter (I'm a system builder, since you only
need to build 1 system to be one), so I know i'm getting access to Vista
Beta and Server 2007 Beta.

That said, being invited to the beta program would be nice **wink, wink**

RE: Beta sign up eval
Windows Vista Beta 1 is primarily geared toward developers who work closely
with
Microsoft, Its partners and Hardware OEMs so I wouldn't be much interested
in it as this is NOT a complete product pe se. I would wait for Beta 2 which
will be released to the general public for evaluation and testing purposes
over a more broader set of hardware and software.

You can as an alternative subscribe to either Microsoft TechNet IT-Pro
edition which comes with Windows Vista Beta 1 for little over $500.00 or MSDN
Pro
which cost much more about $200.00.

But still I would if I were you keep the money and wait for Beta 2 to arrive
and you'd probably pay next to nothing except PSH for the DVD itself. ;)
