3 Windows Vista Suggestions
1. Context sensitive help icon in task bar:
With a new operating system, to help with the learning curve, how about an
taskbar icon which you can click to get context-sensitive help if you need
it? Something which works intuitively like the 'clippy' help system in MS
Office, but not as intrusive. So for example, if it is obvious you are trying
to get a printer defined, rather than have to step aside what you are doing
and going to the help from the start menu, you could click the taskbar and
the appropriate help for what you seem to be doing is available. In addition
to showing help to what you are actually doing, also links to possible help
locations within the MS Knowledge base.

2. Grouped Application profiles:
Multiple applications and documents you can open together by opening a named
profile. For example, opening a profile named 'xyz' results in: MS word
launches and opens xyz.doc, Outlook launches and opens the draft letter to
xyz, Adobe Photoshop launches and opens the xyz.psd file for editing'.
Invariably, you have multiple documents and programs running, but you need to
stop what you are doing and turn off the pc. Rather than having to close all
these programs and documents, turn off the pc, then open them up all over and
get the documents open again, how about the option to be able to save this
layout as a named profile so that when you start your pc next, rather than
having to reopen all those programs and documents again, you can launch the
profile and all those programs will open again, open the documents you were
working on and re-establish where you left off?

3. ‘Open with’ links added to hover information in Windows Explorer
If you hover your mouse over a file in Explorer, the box prompts you with
file property information. How about also listing the 'open with' options as
well rather than having to right click and scroll through the menu as a
separate step? Further, if you hover and hold the alt key (for example) the
hover help becomes a launch box and you can click to open with that
particular program?
