Vista File Lists
Does anyone else have major lag when explorering files.

Example -
When I went to install VS2K5, I put in the dvd and went to browse to the
setup.exe.
As explorer tried to load the files in the VS folder, my machines CPU spiked
and freaked out. It seems to me, that any folders that I view with a lot of
file, the explorer window gets really choppy/slow.

Am I the only one?

Using
CPU =2.5g
Ram = 1g
Video = ATI Radeon 9800

Re: Vista File Lists
Well, 5308 isn't optimised for performance as well as 5342. Are you sure
that your video card drivers are fully installed? This happened to me and I
refreshed my drivers and worked, but if you install 5342 then you'll notice
so much difference :o)

Re: Vista File Lists
Ok that explains it.

I am not able to get the viedo drivers installed. Even though ATI has a
vista version.
Vista will not work with them. Only way to get the card to work sort of, is
to use the drivers that are inclued with windows. Since I don't play games or
anything ( testing machine) on this machine I thought they would do. I can't
belive that file exploring would require my video card to work 100%. But at
least I know.

Thanks for the help!
