Vista Beta 2 having dificulty running startup programs?
Hello,
I am having a few problems with Vista. First off, here are my system specs.

AMD Athlon 3000+
512MB RAM
[Onboard] Geforce 4 MX
(if you need more info on my specs, my PC is an eMachines T3092)
and i'm running Windows Vista(Obviously) Beta 2 Build 5342

The problem I am having seems to effect all the programs I have installed.
When I first download and install the program and then use it afterwards, the
program will launch and run perfectly fine. However, once I have turned off
the PC and started it back up again, the program refuses to run. For example:
MSN messenger will start up to the login screen and when clicking the login
button, it'll seem as though it is logging in and then the program will
freeze.

Also, I have installed AIM and I get a somewhat related experience. Only
this time, it won't start up and comes up with a bubble that says 'This
program has compatability issues.' (AVG seems to do the same thing also)

Now, it worked when I first installed it, why won't it work now?

Any help would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks in advance. =)

(Ps, if I posted this in the wrong board, I appologise)

Re: Vista Beta 2 having dificulty running startup programs?
Hmmm.... it could be a number of things :o(
Have you tried running certain programs in Compatibility Mode with XP? MSN
Messenger is a relatively simple program and doesn't require the operating
system to be specific as it doesn't actually use the OS for anything - so it
should (and does) work on Vista really well.

Try Compat. Mode, but it seems to be an application error rather than your
computer spec.

Re: Vista Beta 2 having dificulty running startup programs?
Windows Vista Builds 5308 CTP and Build 5342 are NOT Beta 2, they are
Interim Builds, and are Not to be considered Official Beta Quality.

P.S. Beta 2 has been Delayed until either April 12th, 2006, or more likely
May 24th, 2006 (just in time for WINHEC).
