Sound Cards and Volume
Only to point out a possible bug on latest public build.

I've installed Beta 2 of Win Vista, and I am experiencing an issue related
to sound card volume, I change it but after reboot, the volume goes back to
previous setting... the worst thing is that volume is by default put to the
max.

Basically, does not keep the volume level I set.

Now is this an issue for the audio driver, or is something related to the
Beta 2?

Another point is the audio mixer: first tiem I open it, the details are
shown, second time it's completely blank. Strange.

Re: Sound Cards and Volume
5231 and 5259 are not Beta 2, they are Interim Builds, and are not to be
considered Official Beta Quality, Beta 2 is now not due out until Febuary
2006, according to Winsupersite.com (I hope that I spelled that correctly,
otherwise feel free to correct the spelling), it is recommended that you
install 5231 and 5259 only on test machines, and it is highly recommended
that you do not illegally download 5259 if you are not a TAP (Technology
Adoption Program) Beta Tester.

Re: Sound Cards and Volume
Very true. As I said to another post:

"Of course that's what Paul Thurrott says... but any honest developer or IT
expert knows that most of the stuff he comes out with is total tosh.

The chances are, that the next build released to testers will be Beta 2,
however... if it isn't then it'll definately show us how long off the RTM of
Vista will be."
