Connecting to a vista machine throuhg private network   

i'm trying to connexct my main computer to the one with vista through a 
private network. The vista machine can get into my XP-machine but the 
connection won't work the other way. Ping command works but if I try to get 
inside the file system i get a message saying that i haven't got the rights 
to enter.
Where can I change the settings in vista ???
