Hello Hmartinez28, Welcome to the forums. Right click on desktop, select 'personalize'. click on 'window color & appearance. Use the color intensity slider to set to your liking. Hope this is what your looking for. Gary -- garysgold Vista Home Premiumx32 SP1 Q6600 Quad Core 2.40 GHz 4 GB Ram 800 MHz Nvidia 8600GTS 256MB 500 GB HD Exp. Index=5.5
yeah i did that but i want it to be more transparent, maybe thats as good as its going to get? IDK i just seen some screenshot on the internet which seemed more transparent than mine ooh well thanks Gee85 and garysgold for trying to help me -- hmartinez28
view your desktop... make sure you minimize all your applications... hit the "Print Screen" button on you keyboard and paste in MS paint, or any photo editor program. save the photo... upload to photobucket and post the link in here. if we see it then we can tell if its possible that you could make it more transparent. -- Gee85 - Inspiron 1721, AMD Turion 64 x2 TL-56 (1.8GHz/1MB) - 2GB, DDR2, 667MHz 2 Dimm - ATI RADEON Xpress1270 256MB HyperMemory for Inspiron 1721 (Integrated) - 120G 5400RPM SATA hard drive
The only other thing I know that might help is, below the slider is a dropdown for color mixer. Open that and slide the saturation slider all the way to the left. Gary -- garysgold Vista Home Premiumx32 SP1 Q6600 Quad Core 2.40 GHz 4 GB Ram 800 MHz Nvidia 8600GTS 256MB 500 GB HD Exp. Index=5.5
One other thing is that different color schemes will give you a bit different look of Transparency. The level of transparency that Vista can achieve is basically locked, but the apparent transparency of your windows/borders will look different depending on your color selection. For instance, a Frost or Default starting color will give you more apparent transparency when using less saturation, than will the Blue or Teal starting color. And that's another thing, the saturation level affects the "apparent" transparency too...you just have to play with things to find what you can achieve with your chosen starting color. -- Chappy ::*_DAVE_* ::- vista ultimate 64bit - nzxt lexa classic case - asus commando mobo (p965/ich8r) - intel e6750 core 2 - zalman 9700 cpu cooler - 4g's crucial ballistix tracer ddr2 pc26400 ram - bfg 8800gts oc2 320mb - 2 x 22\" w2207 lcd monitors - 2 x 250g, 2 x 500g sata ii hdd's, 2 dvd burners c/w lightscribe (sony, tsst) - enermax noisetaker ii 600w psu with custom chrome cable sleeving - hauppauge hdtv tv tuner card - 5.1 logitech z5500 speakers - 15 in 1 multi-card reader ::*We will _NEVER_ Forget!*::
you could try skinning cos i found the level of transparancy dissapointing as it didnt seem enough, download vista glazz (http://www.download.com/VistaGlazz/3000-2341_4-10671199.html) as it mods your shell files, dont worry its totally reversable, this also gives you transparancy on full screen applications, you need to run as admin btw. now you can download a theme i use this one http://counteralchemist.deviantart.com/art/Vista-Reflections-82608139 cos it doesnt really change much. finally heres my desktop showing the transparancy http://img31.picoodle.com/img/img31/4/6/2/f_trans1m_1e28db3.jpg http://img33.picoodle.com/img/img33/4/6/2/f_trans2m_775ca19.jpg
