After installing SP3 on my XP Pro (Dutch) box WMI acts up, throwing error 80041001 when retrieving Win32_Product info locally. WMIDiag complains that the accounts NT AUTHORITY\LOCAL SERVICE, BUILTIN\ADMINISTRATORS, NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE en EVERYONE were removed. Also WMIDiag reports no service packs found : "Windows XP - No service pack - 32-bit (2600)" I was suggested to untinstall SP3, but to me that's killing a mosquito with a howitzer. Is there a fix or workaround for this problem ? TIA
Try going into Component Services and make sure "Enable Distibuted COM on this computer" is checked under the default properties tab. SP3 unchecks this box. Thanks. Hi Scott, Thanks for your answer. Although the setting you mentioned was already checked, it lead me to the culpritt. By changing the DTC account in the security configuration of the MSDTC tab to it's localized counterpart ( Netwerkservice instead of Networkservice) all problems disappeared. I'm a happy man again :) "Scott" wrote: > Try going into Component Services and make sure "Enable Distibuted COM on > this computer" is checked under the default properties tab.
