RE: Taking network snapshot
Hi,
Oh, it seems that you want to get tons of information and tasks done using
WMI. For this type of issue, it is better for you to contact Microsoft
consulting service since they can provide official reliable solution for
you by considering all the aspects of your requirement. Anyway, I would
like to share some of my experience.
Yes, you can connect to the remote machine to query a lot of system
information as long as you know the Admin username/password. The article
below documents the detailed steps and sample code in C++:
"Example: Getting WMI Data from a Remote Computer"
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa390422(VS.85).aspx
Also, the artilces below provide several samples:
"Collecting Remote System Information With WMI"
http://www.codeproject.com/KB/IP/remotesysinformation.aspx
"Network Adapter Configuration Using WMI"
http://microsoft.apress.com/asptodayarchive/73556/network-adapter-configurat
ion-using-wmi
Hope it helps.
Best regards,
Jeffrey Tan

Note: The MSDN Managed Newsgroup support offering is for non-urgent issues
where an initial response from the community or a Microsoft Support
Engineer within 1 business day is acceptable. Please note that each follow
up response may take approximately 2 business days as the support
professional working with you may need further investigation to reach the
most efficient resolution. The offering is not appropriate for situations
that require urgent, real-time or phone-based interactions or complex
project analysis and dump analysis issues. Issues of this nature are best
handled working with a dedicated Microsoft Support Engineer by contacting
Microsoft Customer Support Services (CSS) at
