The DirectX SDK (June 2008) release is up today. What's New and Release Notes are on the download page. I'm unable to install this on my home PC (XP Pro SP2). It gets very near the end of setup then reports error S1016, postulating that the installer might be corrupt. However I re-downloaded it with no success, then grabbed it again at work where it installed with no problems. Brought that file home and get the exact same error message, so I don't think it's file corruption. I can't find any setup logs in the temp folders; is there any way of tracking this down? I suspected interference from AVG Free Anti-Virus (just upgraded to the newly released version 8), but disabling that didn't help. No previous DXSDK has had any problems installing. Thanks for any help, Andy
Your logs should be in %windir%\logs as 'directx_sdk.log' and 'directx.log'. Please send them to me offlist. error S1016 is an error about failing to create a registry key, and the directx_sdk.log should have the details. -- Chuck Walbourn SDE, XNA Developer Connection This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
