We are unable to install DirectX9.0c on a system running Windows XP Professional Version 2002, Service Pack 2, v.2055. This system has DirectX 9.0b installed. When we try to install 9.0c, the setup reports that "installed components are ready to use" but the DXDIAG tool reports that DirectX 9.0b is still installed and is not upgraded to 9.0c. WHY?!
Try to check the individual dll file version. If you see there documentation on which file they have upgraded you can then go to that particular file (or use dxdiag's individual file display window and see the DATE) to see its version. 9.0c is not a major release version. I have directx9.0 c on windows home and it displays that accurately. You may have either a corrupt windows installation or directx setup file. Download the directx from download.microsoft.com ONLY. Let me know what you get, Ill follow you up on this. ======================= The Dude next door. -- ---------------------------------------------- Posted with NewsLeecher v3.0 Final * Binary Usenet Leeching Made Easy * http://www.newsleecher.com/?usenet ----------------------------------------------
