DirectPlay 6/8 API Specs
Where can I find the API specs for both Directplay 6 and 8? I've searched the
MSDN and managed to find some information (though oddly, only for Visual
Basic), however it is incomplete and perforated with broken links.

I'm after both Directplay 6 and 8 specs.

It may seem confusing, but what you really want to know is the differences
between DirectPlay 3 and DirectPlay 4. DirectPlay 3 was shipped with DirectX 6,
and DirectPlay 4 was shipped with DirectX 8.

I do not have a link that provides all the details, but be warned that
DirectPlay is depreciated. That means there will be no more updates, and
Microsoft is no longer officially supporting it on these forums.

Ah, thanks for the clarification, though I'm after complete specifications
of each. BTW, can you tell me anything more about this version system, such
as with what version of DirectX DirectPlay 1 and 2 shipped.

Not a problem for me, more of a boon actually (don't have to worry about
future versions), and I don't think they'd provide any support to someone
re-implementing it for Wine anyhow ;).

You can get the API specs from the SKDs themselves. If you have a hard time
finding them I have copies of them. If you email me directly I can send you
copies of the documentation.

However, if you are really looking for the protocol specs, then you are out of
luck. Microsoft has never released the protocol specs.

I thought Wine already had a fairly good implementation of DirectPlay?
