DirectDraw Error Message   

I recently downloaded a game for my daughter but she continues to get an 
error message which states, Unable to create DirectDraw surface. Make sure 
DirectX is installed and try again.

Well, DirectX is installed on my system and did all the diagnostic testing 
via DirectX Diagnostic Tools to ensure that the program was working properly, 
which it is.

My daughter is eager to play her new game, so any assistance that is 
provided would be more than appreciated.

First make sure you have the latest DirectX download.  See:
http://microsoft.com/directx.  Second, check that you have the latest
driver for your graphics card (from PC manufacturer, graphics board
manufacturer or Windows Update).  Third, if it's not working after that
contact the game manufacturer and ask them if your computer and graphics
card meet the specs.

Finally, this is a programmer group.  End-user questions are more
appropriate for a group such as:

	microsoft.public.directx.video
