I am trying to rebuild my Windows Media Player database by renaming CurrentDatabase_360.wmdb - but I receive an error saying unable to rename because the file is being used by another application. Even after a reboot the message is the same. How do I find the application using the file to stop it to enable me to rename the file?
Did you stop the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service? It's better to rename that folder than just to rename the file. That fixes any problems with the database cache as well. -- Speaking for myself only. See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info.
