You may have two devices "fighting" for the drive letter "G" (it's usually a built-in media card reader). I'm assuming that you have this problem with a Portable Media Center, since you posted to this group. However, this process should work regardless. --- * Make sure your Portable Media Center is plugged in * Hit Start, then right-click on "My Computer". * Choose "Manage" * On the left side, you should see a node titled "Disk Management", click it. ***YOU MUST BE VERY CAREFUL AT THIS POINT*** you could alter your computer in such a way that would cause it to become unusable until you run system restore (if you have it turned on). * On the right side, you should see all of your devices listed * Right-click on the bar for your Portable Media Center and choose "Change drive letter and paths..." * Click on the "Change" button * Change it to a letter far down in the alphabet (P for Portable Media Center might be good) --- You might have to restart your computer for the changes to take effect. -- Michael Earls The Cerebral Kitchen http://www.cerkit.com/ "John Smith" <John Smith@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:2BE24166-DBFE-4F6E-9D32-CBDFD45AD130@microsoft.com... > G:/ is not accessible > Incorrect Function > > This message also pops up with A:/ (floppy disk) and F:/ (portable media > device) > it happened spontaneously > What should i do?? > > ( IN SIMPLE LANGUAGE) Plze
