I am running Windows Vista Home Basic and I am trying to sync my old pocket pc (Hp Jornada 540) which is running Windows CE Version 3.0.9348. I connected my Pocket pc and windows downloaded and installed the drivers but in the Device Manager I see an error code 10 (Couldn´t start device) Is there anything I can do to fix this. Thanks a lot!!
Wrong group. This is for Portable Media Centers, a defunct product that should have been what turned into Zunes. But anyway, No, nothing you can do. Just as older Windows OSs required ActiveSync to sync a PPC, Vista requires a thing called Windows Mobile Device Center. WMDC only syncs back to PPC2003. You unfortunately are blessed with an original PPC OS, circa 2000. AS doesn't work on Vista and WMDC doesn't support the Jornada. Sorry, but that's the way it is. -- Sven MS MVP Mobile Devices "Jose Luis Vetura" <Jose Luis Vetura@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:D478BF2C-D60E-4A6B-BFEF-624655674EE9@microsoft.com... >I am running Windows Vista Home Basic and I am trying to sync my old pocket > pc (Hp Jornada 540) which is running Windows CE Version 3.0.9348. > I connected my Pocket pc and windows downloaded and installed the drivers > but in the Device Manager I see an error code 10 (Couldn´t start device) > > Is there anything I can do to fix this. > > Thanks a lot!!

No need to apologize. Just wanted to fill you in, as there are definitely pocket PC groups you can check in to. microsoft.public.pocketpc would be a good start. I'm sure there are other Jornada users still out there. I had a few of them myself, back in the olden days ;) -- Sven MS MVP Mobile Devices "Jose Luis Vetura" wrote in message news:4B6C7D8B-801A-4042-972A-40FC810AC8DC@microsoft.com... > Thank you very much for your answer and I am sorry for my mistake. > > "Sven" wrote: > >> Wrong group.
