I have been streaming Windows Media for years but only with RTSP. I want to use the HTTP protocol and port 80. I am currently using the serverâs default IP for the RTSP stream and all is well. I currently using port 80 for a few websites. I am in uncharted territory in turning on the HTTP protocol for port 80 and leaving the port 80 for streaming. I have more IPs available. Do I leave the RTSP using it's current IP and then use a second and different one for the HTTP? If I have to change both of them I will have hundreds of redirector files to change which is doable but I don't want to. -- George Payne

Yes, just bind WMS to the secondary IP address - as you've noted, you can't share the same port and IP address for 2 services. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/328728 For WS2008 : http://thebackroomtech.com/2009/01/09/running-windows-media-services-and-and-iis-on-the-same-server-in-windows-server2008/ Cheers - Neil ------------------------------------------------ Digital Media MVP : 2004-2009 http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/mvpfaqs
Thanks Neil. This is best page I have see on the subject. When I try doing by the instructions it says I need to realese one of my IPs from II7. I have spent some time doing tryinng to figure that out but I don't find where I shgould do that. I jsut moved to II7 from a 2003 Server. -- George Payne Write Hand Publishing 334 222-9212 "George Payne" wrote: > I have been streaming Windows Media for years but only with RTSP. It sounds like you've setup IIS to "bind all available IP addresses" I don't have a WS2008 machine running I can check that on r/now, so you'd perhaps need to ask in an IIS group to make sure there are no additional complexities HTH Cheers - Neil On Thu, 18 Jun 2009 16:33:09 -0700, George Payne wrote: >Thanks Neil.
