When trying to launch MSN video clips from MSN.com homepage, the video will not play. Instead, underneath the playlist, it continually scrolls theough all of the available video clips. Hitting the play button does nothing. Videos will never launch. No error messages appear. Where the clip should be playing, "loading your video" flashes on and off continually. I can't seem to launch clips from other sites either. I can play stored clips on WMP. I just can't launch them from a web site. Any ideas? Thanks. R.L.

I can't launch them from anyother sites either - such as Yahoo.com or Ifilms.com. I used to be able to do so, but for some reason, it now fails. I can successfuly play clips on my laptop, but just not on my desktop PC. RL "Sebastian Gottschalk" wrote: > R.L. wrote: > > I can play stored clips on WMP. What error messages does your webbrowser submit on the console? What version of the WMP plugin do you use?
Using IE6, configured per factory specs from Dell. I have regularly updated it per Microsoft downloads. No filtering on HTTP that I know of (since I don't know what that is. I'm a causal user- I don't do any sophisticated stuff). No error messages at all - the player just want launch a clip from within a website. It tries to load the clip but never succedes. Using WMP 10.00.00.4019 and I've already re-installed it. I did have problem a couple of months ago with playing clips. IE would need to be closed and I got an error message regarding a codec.dll file. I posted to this foum and was able to resolve the issue based on a response from a power user. I just renamed the file as codec.dll.old and that resoved the problem. I think this is different because before I could at least launch the clip and it would play a few seconds before failing. Now the clips won't even launch. I've run virus scans and adware programs but no help there. R.L. Again: Random errors by using IE on a website are common and expected. Not get a real webbrowser and you'll be able to browse websites normally and you'll also get some useful error messages. > I posted to this foum and was able > to resolve the issue based on a response from a power user. I guess you meant "adware scan programs".
