Hi all I currently encode video with Windows Media Encoder. I've had some reports of problems with the files that I've encoded. They appear to playback fine on a PC however when streamed to a set top box they stutter and freeze intermittently. I have also been told that upon inspection with Windows Media ASF View 9 Series the only difference that can be determined between a 'good' file and a 'bad' file is that under the "Extended Content Description Object" the 'good' files report the WMFSDKVersion as "10.00.00.3646" and the 'bad' files report the value as "10.00.00.3702" or some other value (all files that end in .3646 play perfectly). So I ask the following questions: 1) Can this change in SDK version be responsible for this unwanted behaviour during playback? If so, how? 2) How would I go about 'reverting' to the 'good' SDK? I know that Microsoft lists WMP 10 as 10.00.00.3646 (atleast thats given as the 'version number') but I did a clean install of WMP 10 and ended up with encoded files reporting an WMFSDK Version of "10.00.00.4054". Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Fooder
