I have found the solution to this problem: Open Windows Media Player Press "Alt" (If classic menu not displayed) Click "Tools" Click "Plug-Ins" Click "Options" Under the "Plug-Ins" tab: 1) Select "Audio DSP" ---> Uncheck all boxes (e.g. SSMS Audio Filter) 2) Select "Other DSP" --> Uncheck all boxes Apply changes Restart computer This worked for me and I have had no problems since. I do not know if this will solve similar problems with all media players but I was experiencing the "R&R Installer" alert with other programs on my computer. By changing the Windows Media Player settings mentioned, all my other programs funtioned without further error.
