ROM to Burner?
This is probably a really stupid question, but I have to know - is software
alone the only difference between a CD/DVD ROM drive and a CD/DVD Burner? Or
do you have to physically install a whole new drive? My friend (who lent me
this computer) says this computer comes with a burner, but it doesn't burn.
I tried installing Nero and nothing was actually burned into the disk. In
the System menu (under Control Panel), the drive I have is called a "HL-DT-ST
DVD-ROM GDR8160B" (whatever that is). Can anyone tell from this 'name' if it
is an actual cd burner, or only a reader? Thanks for the help.
