Media player has problems with some (very random) media files while they are attached in an email. For example, a .wma file WMP tells the recipient that it can not play the .wma file - codec missing however, when the same file is saved to the desktop WMP has no problems playing the file. I had a problem with and .avi but slighly different, it played the file but audio only, again when saved to the desktop both audio and video played fine. ANy clues? Thanks!!! PS - this was dupluicated on 3 seperate computers all using XPPro with WMP11 but all three used different email programs (Outlook2007, Outlook Express and a Comcast web email program)
UPDATE - This is only a problem when trying to open a media file while in Comcast's email program, Outlook and OE are fine. So it is a Comcast problem, not WMP. I am having a similar intermittent problem --when trying to open a media file as an attachment while in Comcast email -get an error message that -low on memory --so it won't play --however, computer is not low on memory and WMP works fine on direct internet sites. I had this problem several weeks ago -it went away -and now it is back --don't know what to do to fix/prevent ---any ideas? mm5 "Dr Bombay" wrote: > UPDATE - This is only a problem when trying to open a media file while in > Comcast's email program, Outlook and OE are fine.
