My father inlaw asked if I could find answer for this problem he has!!!! YES to most ques bout security, computer is very protected. Problem does NOT seem to be virus related cos it does no harm except move emails. Heres the problem - Started when a folder was created automatically and all emails that were in OE then got moved into this new folder. and OE went back to a brand new appearance (empty with just default folders) You login to retreive more emails and everthing works normally - in regards to download and appearance in Inbox. During next boot, system moves any newly D/Led emails to the new folder and OE is back to its original (default) look - empty of emails. I cant see this being a nasty (trojan virus etc) cos I have never heard of a nasty being so nice as to neatly package all ur emails. Any help much appreciated Charlie
Need a lot more details before evening posting a guess. What operating system is in use? What version of Internet Explorer and Outlook Express is installed as shown in the Help/About screen for each program? Is this a recent problem since installing some type of antivirus program or antispam program? If so, what happens when those programs are uninstalled? Is the problem fixed? If not, then it sounds like some parasite or Trojan program has taken over the computer. Is the computer up to date with all security patches from Microsoft windows update marked as Critical for the operating sytem? -- Jim Pickering, MVP, Outlook Express https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile=F9F51EF1-4AE3-4D23-B2D8-1171988A62D6 Please deliver feedback to the newsgroup, so that others can be helped.
