I am running OE5.5 on Win98SE in this case. Today I tried to save the attachments of an email (several .JPG's) and keep getting a response that says "That folder already exists, do you want to replace it?" First, what type of weird question is that? I'm just trying to save files to the folder! Second, if I say NO, then the files/attachments don't get saved. Third, if I say YES, the files/attachments still don't get saved, and, I get an error message that also says to check for disk space (I have over 2 GB remaining on the HD). What gives?! The problem is the same no matter which folder I try to use. Jack
Also, I forwarded the email to another account and opened on a XP machine with IE6. The difference is that upon trying to save the attachments I immediately get "There was an error saving one or more of the attachments. Please check your free disk space and try again." Jack
You might take a look at the Message Source (Ctrl-F3) and see if there is something unusual about the file name for the attachment. Perhaps it includes some characters that are invalid in a Windows file name, such as a colon or back slash. Mike -- I'm now convinced the problem is with the email/attachment, because other emails with attachments work ok. The sender seems to somehow have put the attachments into the subject line -- and, they don't show up as a list but as a string that cannot be fully read because instead of a list in the drop-down it is a string which is cut off due to the small width of the drop-down/fly-out for attachments.
