error message - "command line option syntax error"
i have recently started using a pc running windows 98 after a period of
inactivity. when i last used it all was fine, now that i have come to use it
again (4 months having elapsed) i firstly found that my isp didnt recognise
me, some may say thats not a bad idea- lol, and i had to resign. that was
the start of the problem, having successfully signed up and dialled in thats
as far as i got, .... i got connected but could not get to a `homepage` or
any other page for that.. each time i clicked on the IE icon i got the IE
setup wizard. which ran its course only to tell me that i had the latest
version already installed. it does it every time..... and whenever i attempt
access via a favourites link or msn channell or any other programme for that
matter i get the error message " command line option syntax error".. now
i know that this error message is synonymous with microsoft office 2000, but
i dont have that installed and never have. i have managed to negotiate to
windows update by the back door but that doesnt offer any solution. now
some of you may be asking how i managed to get to this discussion forum....
2nd pc is the answer.... anyone got any solution for me please.... many
thanks .... Tony
