IE 6.0 Problems
Suddenly unable to make connection to net using IE 6.0 with XP. No problem
logging on with Mozella Firefox. Get page error message with IE. Discovered
I could get to net with IE if I temporarily disable Norton internet security
2004. Suggestions please.

NIS is likely blocking the iexplore.exe process. Check in there?

Re: IE 6.0 Problems
Thanks. Somehow the firewall in NIS showed "blocked" instead of "automatic"
for IE. Working fine now. By the way, do you have any idea how the setting
for IE in NIS would have automatically changed itself? I did not make the
change.

A prompt without looking/paying attention and then clicking on it to set it
to block is the usual means. I don't use NIS and wouldn't let it near my PC
with even a virtual machine loaded and a keg of beer in me.
