I run windows 98. I have IE 5.5 as my browser. My homepage will not change no matter how I try. It will not change from this: http://db105.com:81/cgi-bin/index.cgi?c=0 I don't know what to do about it.... I would like to upgrade to a better version of I/E and even downloaded versions... but I can not uninstall this 5.5 version. When I go to uninstall microsoft IE 5.5 and tools..and click the add/remove button... It brings up a window that says... internet explorer 6 and tools. there are 3 options...1:Add a component 2:repair I/E 3:Restore previous windows configuration. I have tried everything...HELP
Actually, when upgrading, you don't need to uninstall the existing version. Just find and double-click the "ie6setup.exe" file and following the prompts. On the home page problem, start regedit, expand and highlight the following keys and look in the right window for "HomePage". If you find it, delete it. You may have to restart the computer for the change to take effect.
