I'm trying to get an older laptop updated and set up to use a wireless internet connection. The laptop is running Windows 98 SE. To install the wireless software I need IE 5.5 or higher. I currently have IE 5. I don't have internet access from the laptop yet. I downloaded IE 5.5 setup onto a cd from a different computer and tried to install it on my laptop but it wouldn't let me install it without an internet conenction. In short, I can't setup my internet connection (my only option for the laptop is wireless) without IE 5.5 and I can't install IE 5.5 without an internet connection. What do I do??
Old IE versions. http://public.planetmirror.com/pub/microsoft/ie/ http://www.greenapple.com/support/software/browsers/default.htm For IE5.5 SP2, you can get a CD here for $3.29 http://on-disk.com/ie55sp2.html ....Alan -- Alan Edwards, MS MVP Windows - Internet Explorer http://dts-l.org/index.html On Sun, 8 Jan 2006 21:56:02 -0800, "Marc" wrote: >I'm trying to get an older laptop updated and set up to use a wireless >internet connection.
