Re: Internet Explorer Urgent Help needed
Search your computer for a hidden file called HOSTS. Rename to HOSTS.OLD.

Also try the following command in a DOS window:

ipconfig /flushdns

Re: Internet Explorer Urgent Help needed
Hi,
Are you running IE5.5 on Windows Millennium (WinME?) Have you had this ISP
for awhile? Were you previously able to connect?

Re: Internet Explorer Urgent Help needed
Hi,
So, is btopenworld your ISP? Is the Netscape browser accessing sites?

A good place to start with this problem would be
Dealing with Unwanted Spyware and Parasites:
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm
You should download, update and run Ad-aware and Spybot.

Additional help:

http://wiki.castlecops.com/Malware_Removal_and_Prevention:_Overview
Bugs, Glitches & Stuffups: http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/Darnit.html
Removing Malware:
http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware
What you can do about spyware and other unwanted software:
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/spywarewhat.mspx

Other possibilities at:
IE- Can't display- DNS Errors: http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers/16.html

Also, with IE5.5 you should have a repair option in Control Panel>
add/remove programs> MS IE. But a repair won't help if the problem is caused
by malware.

Hope this helps,
