Need upgrade to IE 5.5
I am running Win95 with IE 5.0. I have been trying to download and upgrade
to IE 5.5, however the downloading process gets to about 10%, stops, then
warns me that the site (Microsoft) is down, and to try later. I have been
trying for over a week now to complete the download, without any success. I
have tried upgrading to IE 6, but my system will not support it. Are there
any "mirror" sites out there where IE 5.5 could be downloaded from? I have
tried the search engines, and it appears to be a dead end effort. Any
suggestions would be appreciated

Re: Need upgrade to IE 5.5
I suggest you stop trying Microsoft. IE5.5 was removed more than 2
years ago.

Old IE versions.

For IE5.5 SP2, you can get a CD here for $2.99

Re: Need upgrade to IE 5.5
FYI,
greenapple.com is sending me a free disk. I had a problem with on-disk.com
though--I kept getting booted off the site when an error message popped up
saying that Internet Explorer was denied access.... go figure, huh? I even
changed the security settings in IE, but still did not remedy the issue. In
fact, I had never seen that sort of an error message pop up while navigating
around uncertain Web sites...Do you have any tips on solving this latest
little problem?
Thx again... Chip

Re: Need upgrade to IE 5.5
On-Disk.com has redone their site.

I recently had them download the open office 2 pre-release for me and
the site is changed a lot since I was last there a couple of weeks ago.
It's a lot faster and easier to use. You can even order without having
to get an account first.
