What version of IE are you using now? (as shown in IE-Help-About)
You cannot download IE5.5 from MS.

Sorry, but I am unfamiliar with AOL and I don't know if you are
referring to an AOL browser of just IE that has been branded.
How to remove branding.
To remove all Internet Explorer branding, follow these steps:
1. Click Start.
2. Click Run.
3. Type
rundll32.exe iedkcs32.dll,Clear
and then click OK.
4. Restart Internet Explorer.
