When i tried to open an excel file from the webapplications (using internet explorer 6 favourites) it pops me a message "would you like to open this file as read only".. (Office 2007). whereas when i open the same favourites link from the c:\documentsettings\usname\faourites it opens fine and doesnt ask me for password. After checking it look like whn i open the file throug IE it open in explorer while whn i open the same file from document settings\favourites it directly open in excel 2007. so i changed some of the registry changes using the link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/162059. Now after changing registry all office files open i IE and making my job harders. Can anyone help me to get back the old registry settings .
They're gone unless you backed up the registry before the changes. You might try asking them here. http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.office.misc&cat=en_US_24f872ec-a5b6-4cc1-925d-0364c03e6da6&lang=en&cr=US -- Regards, Dave Patrick ....Please no email replies - reply in newsgroup.
