The problem is that we have some DOS programs that were telling an Epson LX-300 to print in condensed mode. We replace the Epson with a Dell 1710 Laser printer but it does not understand (and seems to ignore) the condensed type instruction. Changing the DOS programs is impossible. I can already see myself contacting Dell about this but I thought it might be worthwhile to ask. Does anyone have any ideas? Many thanks in advance. J

You can find more info and a free trial version at http://www.printfil.com Kind regards, Davide Guolo -------------------------------------------------------------- Printfil - Windows Printing System for Applications http://www.printfil.com Odbc4All - Connection to ODBC Data Sources for any Application http://www.guolo.com/odbc4all --------------------------------------------------------------
With Dell's help, I ended up changing the Default Graphics Mode in Printer Properties from "Automatic" to "GL/2". That fixed the problem.
