View other PC with Computers Near Me but Network Path Not found?
Below are the network configurations for two pc's.
cabled together with standard Cat5 to a linksys hub/router.
Network icon's appear in tray of both PC's and Status is
showing packets have been sent and
recieved (but not very many)
Can view other PC in Computers Near Me, but when
clicking on other computer icon, I get
"Network path not found"
Can't ping each other either.
Same result from both computers.
Workgroup is HOME for both.

Re: View other PC with Computers Near Me but Network Path Not found?
Hello JumboShrimps,

Is it a router or a hub? Please be more specific, maybe you use ports that
are for WAN connections and not for LAN. If it is a router configure the
DG with the routers ip. If you can not ping the machines by address, they
normally can not see themselves in network neighbour hood.

Best regards

Back of the box sez Netgear 5-Port Fast Ethernet Switch F5605.
No idea what a "DG" is. There are five little holes in the unit,
I plugged one end of the cable into the computer's network card, the
other end I plugged into the Netgear unit. Lights flash at both ends.
