Server RAM upgrade
I am trying to upgrade RAM on an HP Proliant ML310 server. I have (2)
CORSAIR 1GB 184-Pin

DDR SDRAM DDR 266 (PC 2100) ECC Registered Server Memory Model

CM72SD1024RLP-2100. When I place these into slots 1 and 2 and try and boot
the computer a

black screen comes up with what looks like a command line that reads:
"...tion utility" (it runs off the

upper right hand side of the screen). I can't input or get any reply from
this screen. The server is

running Microsoft Small Business Server 2000, 5.00.2195, service pack 4.
Thanks for any help.

Is that the specific type of RAM specified by HP as being compatible
with the motherboard?

Re: Server RAM upgrade
Hi Angharad:

I am afraid that you will have problems with the CORSAIR memory. Not because
it a bad brand or the modules are faulty, but becuase the HP hardware is
very picky regarding the memory. My advice it is that you use Compaq-HP
memory for your server.

With laptops and deskop, you can open your hand and install 3dr party
memory.
