Symantec Antivirus and WINLOGON use 50% CPU time on booting
Hi Everyone,

When I start my Celeron PC + 256Mb RAM, a Windows 2000 professional
machine takes lot of time to boot, lot of disk activities and ...
applying the system security takes like forever. When I switch to Task
Manager, everytime I find WINLOGON process is taking 40-60% CPU time
for that first 46 to 49 seconds. Then it gets back to normal mode. Does
it have anything to do with windows SFC? If I uninstall my Symantec
Antivirus, the problem goes away. What can be the reasons? Without
Symantec Antivirus, I'm dead!

TIA

Use Avast Anti Virus instead, it's free with registration and uses less cpu
time.
