Hi all, We need to use the Epson TM-U220 Receipt printer on a remote point of sale that will connect to our LAN by using terminal server. We have used successfully other printers in this arrangement as long as these printers can be installed to the LPT1 port of the remote computer. In such cases by using the appropriate drivers in both terminal server and remote computer the terminal services client automatically detects the printer. But the Epson TM-U220 drivers autoinstalls itself by creating a new port called EPSON SD Printer Port. Epson does not provides the driver's .inf so it is impossible to attach the printer to LPT1 by using XP Control Panel. What can I do? Is it a third party driver or .inf for installing the receipt printer in LPT1? My terminal server is Windows 2000 SP4. Clients are mostly XP but also 98. Thanks in advance Sammy
You don't have to install the printer on LPT1, you have to enable printer redirection of all ports: 302361 - Printers That Use Ports That Do Not Begin With COM, LPT, or USB Are Not Redirected in a Remote Desktop or Terminal Services Session http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=302361 _________________________________________________________ Vera Noest MCSE, CCEA, Microsoft MVP - Terminal Server TS troubleshooting: http://ts.veranoest.net ___ please respond in newsgroup, NOT by private email ___ "SammyBar" wrote on 14 dec 2005 in microsoft.public.windows.terminal_services: > Hi all, > > We need to use the Epson TM-U220 Receipt printer on a remote > point of sale that will connect to our LAN by using terminal > server.
