Terminal Server taking a long time to log off
Hi. I've been banging my head against the wall with this problem for a long
time, and am hoping someone can help (with the problem, not the head banging).

We have a number of Servers on our network, all running Server 2003. All are
set up the same, and all have Remote Desktop activated so that 2
Administrators can connect at a time. We haven't installed Terminal Server on
them, or made many changes from the default settings.

On one of our servers, when you go to log out, it takes 15-20 minutes for
the server to actually log you out and free up the connection. This happens
to everyone who uses this server, but only this server. All of our other
servers log you off and close the session within a few seconds. I've
compared settings, and everything seems to be configured the same. I also
checked the running processes, and nothing is different between servers.
This happens regardless if you run anything while logged on or not.

Any ideas?

Cheers,
Bret

Anythig in the EventLog?
Are you using roaming profiles?
Try if the problem disappears when you install the UPHClean
utility:

Re: Terminal Server taking a long time to log off
Nothing in the event log jumps out at me, but will have a closer look tomorrow.
No, we don't use roaming profiles. I'm going to try the UPHClean in the
morning and see if that helps. Will let you know.

Thanks.
Bret
