WinXP prof. sp1: no access to Windows2003-TerminalServer
on two of 21 WinXP prof. (sp1) I've got the following problem:

- after installation (in 2004) I can access Windows 2000
TerminalServers and Windows 2003 TerminalServers

- after a few months I only had access to Win2000-TS, if I try to
connect to Win2003-TS, I got a license error.

- in the Microsoft KnowledgeBase, I found that I should delete or
rename the registry-key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSLicensing. After that I had
access to Win2000-TS and Win2003-TS.

- now, a few months later, I have no access to Win2000-TS and
Win2003-TS. If I re-install the registry-key (see above), I have
access to Win2000-TS, but not to Win2003-TS.
The error message is:
"license error: license time limit reached" (translated)
(original german: "..., ist ein Lizenzierungsfehler aufgetretent
(Lizenzzeitlimit erreicht)")

What can I do and why does this happen on a XP-professional-System?

ciao

Re: WinXP prof. sp1: no access to Windows2003-TerminalServer
This happens because you need a 2003 TS Licensing Server, and you
need to buy and install 2003 TS CALs on it.

Note that an XP Pro client receives a free TS CAL from the Windows
2000 TS Licensing Server when it connects to a W2K Terminal Server,
but *not* when it connect to a 2003 TS.
