memory dump after trying to install sound drivers
I tried installing sound drivers on NT 4 SP6a. During the process, I got
a blue screen saying something about a memory dump and then I could not
boot into NT after I powered off the computer and turn it back on.
Fortunately, I had NT on a triple boot setup with DOS and Win2000, so I
went into 2000 and deleted the sound drivers that had been installed in
NT. Then I was able to boot into NT. I am not going to try installing
sound drivers again, but I am wondering why installing sound drivers
would cause this. The drivers were supposed to work on NT 4. Also, what
exactly is a memory dump?
Thanks,
JM
