Boot Image / record
I can place my image on formatted CF disk and it will boot every time. I am
unable to place the image on a micro drive or small 2.5 drive. the system
will not boot. Most of the time no error is given, the screen just will not
show anything just a cursor waiting. Have tried fdisk with switch MBR, have
also check the knowledge base but to no avail. I have seen the answer on the
older forums, but there are no archives to look thru anymore. I have
formatted the disk thru NT 4. Any help on this?

Re: Boot Image / record
Hi Lester

Have you formated your drive with FAT32?
If yes, have you activated the partition?
Have you made a primary system partition?

Try to use NTFS on HardDisks.

Use the diskpart.exe out of a XP system
to prepare your HD. (Or also bootprep out of the
Xp Embedded tools)

If you don't have them, contact me per E-Mail:

martin.grossen@nospam.avnet.com

of course without the "nospam"

Re: Boot Image / record
I have tried both. This is NT40, I have no XP embedded tools. I have tried to
use the NT40 install disk and repair the boot sector, to no avail also. My
disk amdinistrator will not let me make the disk active. when using FDISK,
the partition is already marked active according to it so it will not let me
mark the disk active (since it already is). Can not seem to find the
difference in the compact flask setup to the micro drive setup. Everything
formats correctly and I can move the same image to CF and it works everytime.
