Turning of my PC
I have a Microsoft Media Center PC which i use to record late night programs,
But i would like to know how do I tell my computer to turn off when I'm not
there. You know all that save the world stuff I don't want to waste energy.

Use task scheduler and Shutdown.exe for a planned shutdown.

AutoPowerOn&Shutdown
http://www.lifsoft.com/

Using a program which employs hibernate allows for the PC to be
restarted after a shutdown. Programs which employ hibernate claim
to use even less power than "sleep," and to be resilient for
continued operation after actual power outages.

The above mentioned program has worked flawlessly for me for more
than 6 months.
