Running windows xp service pack 2. USB enhanced controller not installed on machine. Recently upgraded to boradband and need to install the usb 2.0 driver on pc. Thought I could copy the usbehci.sys, usbhub.sys, usbport.sys, hccoin.dll, usbui.dll from my xp laptop (connected to broadband) to the xp pc. Can I upgrade the USB drivers by copying these to files to the drivers folder and system 32 folder. Thanks -- Martin
The final release version of the Microsoft USB 2.0 drivers are included in Windows XP Service Pack 1. Since you say you have SP 2 you are good to go. --- Leonard Grey Errare humanum est Harvydanger9 wrote: > Running windows xp service pack 2. USB enhanced controller not installed on > machine. If not, you would need to install an USB 2.0 add-in card. That said, a far easier solution would be to purchase a router, connect your modem to the router, and connect your PC to the router with an Ethernet cable. Get a wireless router and you can take advantage of your laptop's mobility by installing a wireless adapter if it doesn't have one already. Good luck Nepatsfan
