The following links may offer some ideas: Movie Maker 2 Crashes and Hangs http://www.papajohn.org/MM2-Issues-Acceleration-and-Codecs.html The following link is the result of a Google Groups search for Unspecified Error, maybe it will be useful; Movie Maker Unspecified Error http://tinyurl.com/ebk7j or... http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.windowsxp.moviemaker/search?group=microsoft.public.windowsxp.moviemaker&q=unspecified+error&qt_g=1 -- John Inzer MS Digital Media MVP Notice This is not tech support I am a volunteer Solutions that work for me may not work for you Proceed at your own risk
MM does not work with png files, so converting to BMP as John says should cure the problem. -- Graham Hughes MVP Digital Media www.myvideoproblems.com "John Inzer" wrote in message news:DLidnbkYrr3aYjLVnZ2dnUVZ_uSdnZ2d@comcast.com... > cb_jerome wrote: >> i keep getting this message whenever i try to import pictures to >> movie maker.. ive tried it.neither of them worked.. is there any way that i can re-install the program completely? any useful links? -- Message posted via WindowsKB.com http://www.windowskb.com/Uwe/Forums.aspx/windows-xp-movie-maker/200808/1
MM is part of windows so a windows re-install is the only true way of doing it. If you are only using pictures yu may want to try photostory which is designed for stills, but not png though, so you could try your bitmaps in there. -- Graham Hughes MVP Digital Media www.myvideoproblems.com "cb_jerome via WindowsKB.com" <u45686@uwe> wrote in message news:896db7093e583@uwe... > ive tried it.neither of them worked.. is there any way that i can > re-install > the program completely? any useful links? > > -- > Message posted via WindowsKB.com > http://www.windowskb.com/Uwe/Forums.aspx/windows-xp-movie-maker/200808/1 >
