Hi At this moment I got similar problem. Msmsgs.exe not starting. My software - original XP pro with all patches - original Messenger files ver.4.7.0.3001 with date 2004-10-13 - network services enabled, firewall allow for msmsgs. Hack with enablemessenger.reg files not work. Not messages in event log and drwatson. In windbg I see that msmsgs exits after check of mscoree.dll which not exist on my system. I think that file mscoree.dll is not necessery so what I can do?
