Power management flakiness   

Hi -- I have a new laptop running XP2 SP3. When I configure the power 
management options to blink off the screen after 1 minute, (I use it plugged 
in, so that is where the setting is),  it does that -- sometimes. But even 
when it does, it comes back on to stay after another minute. Totally 
maddening. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks. -- David
