I can't boot Windows XP due to some system files that are missing. So, I'm booting off the XP CD and running recovery. However, I'm asked for an "Administrator Password". I didn't create one, except for the password I set to log-in to my user account. How do I get past the password request?

I already tried that. Didn't work. Also, I already tried the administrator password I created for my XP user account. Didn't work. ??????????? Actually, hitting retun got me past the password request. However, after hitting "enter", I get "c:\windows". The Recovery Console does not execute or run. My only choice is to type "exit" and start over with the same result. Why doesn't the Recovery Console execute after hitting "enter"? "cjlars" wrote: > I already tried that. Didn't work.
