Changing Account to Order relationship in CRM 3.0
When the Account owner is changed, all the Orders (even previous orders owned
by other usres) get assigned to the new owner of the account.
I wanted to change the Account - Order Relationship to configurable
cascading: User owned. However, the relationship type is SYSTEM. User cannot
change the relationship type.
This has been a big nuisance as the people who process orders are different
from the Account owners.
Reassigning accounts to new sales people has been a nightmare because it
assigns all the existing orders to the new user.
Is there any work around to change this relationship?
Account - Opportunity relationship is user configurable. Why is Account-
Order relationship hard coded?

Re: Changing Account to Order relationship in CRM 3.0
In CRM 4.0 if you customize the Order

click on  ->  N:1 Relationships
then open ->  account_orders

The "Type of Behavior" can be set to "Configurable Cascading".

Then you can set "Assign" to "Cascade None".

Re: Changing Account to Order relationship in CRM 3.0
I have the same issue, but even worse. It appears that some 3rd party plugins
actually for whatever reason change the owner "temporarily" of the contact
record to which all of our orders are associated with, then changes it back,
cause all the orders to essentially be assigned to the owner of the contact,
which in our case is simply the person who created the contact.
REDICULOUS..one more update for CRM 3.0 please to abolish this mental
nightmare.
